David Bernstein Calls UEFA Threat the 'Last Ditch Effort' Against Football Regulator


Former Football Association CEO David Bernstein has characterized UEFA's warning that England's participation in Euro 2028 could be jeopardized as a "last throw of the dice" from those against the establishment of an independent regulator for English football. This comment follows a letter sent to Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy by UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis, who voiced concerns about what he sees as government interference in football governance.
